Incentives for Milk Producers:

Members who supply milk to milk producers' cooperatives will receive Rs. 5/- per liter of milk is being given as incentive.

 5 Ex-gratia for accidental death of small animals (Karnataka Sheep & Wool Development Corporation): For accidental death, an amount of Rs.5000/- for sheep/goats above 6 months and Rs. 3500/- for sheep/goats aged 3-6 months, compensation will be distributed to their owners.
6 Distribution of Poultry birds by Karnataka Cooperative Poultry Federation: Local poultry birds are reared for 5 weeks and 20 birds each will be distributed to rural farmer women/members of Mahila Self Help group 
7 Assistance to Pinjarpol Goshalas Assistance is being provided at the rate of Rs.17.50/- per cattle per day for the maintenance of unproductive and abandoned cows in government and private goshalas of the state.
8 Amrita Swabhimani Kurigahi scheme: Under the Amrita Swabhimani Kurigahi scheme, 20+1 sheep/goat units will be provided to 20 thousand economically backward members of the sheep and wool producers cooperative societies at a unit cost of Rs.1,75,000/-. 50% of the unit cost will be provided by the National Cooperative Development Corporation,Department of Cooperation, Government of India, 25% grant from State Government and 25% contribution from the beneficiary.
9 Vaccination program:    Vaccination against recognized infectious diseases.
  • Vaccination program against foot and mouth disease. 100% grant from the Centre
  • Under ASCAD scheme, 60% central share and 40% state's share   (vaccination against HS,BQ,ET,Anthrax)
  • Vaccination program against PPR disease. 60% central share and 40%  State's share
 10 Animal Welfare Helpline 24/7 To provide 24/7 continuous service to livestock, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services has launched a helpline for farmers who can contact the helpline number 8277100200 to get the technical support of the department.

 Kisan Credit Card:

  • This program is intended to provide short-term working capital financial assistance to farmers engaged in dairy, sheep, goat, poultry, pig and rabbit farming.
  • Interest rebate facility under Kisan Credit Card Scheme is Rs. 3 lakhs, each farmer can get a loan facility of Rs.1.60 lakh without any security.
  • Kisan is giving 2% interest subsidy on the loan taken from the credit card, and if the loan is repaid on time, an additional annual percentage of A facility of 3% interest subsidy is also available.

NLM EDP Entrepreneurial Programme:

The program is a scheme to provide financial assistance to start rural poultry entrepreneurship, sheep, goat, pig farming and silage production units.

 PM-FME Scheme:

As a part of Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, Government of India's "Prime Minister Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises" (PM-FME) is in force. Under this scheme there will be opportunity to set up new Food Processing Enterprises/upgradation of existing Enterprises/Food processing Units.

Mobile Vetirinary Units:

Under the Livestock Health and Disease Control Programme, 290 well-equipped mobile veterinary vehicles have been provided to provide emergency veterinary services at the doorsteps of farmers.

15 Amrita Siri Scheme: A program of distribution of surplus female calves/heifers/cows/buffaloes available in all livestock areas of the department under “Amrita Siri” scheme to farmers/devasi/widows/war widows/cremation workers in districts where breeds are available at 25% of book price. Thereby farmers are encouraged to breed more indigenous breeds of cows.

Karnataka Sheep and Sheep Wool Development Corporation Limited

 

  • Distribution of sheep/goat units of Scheduled Tribe/Scheduled Caste (6+1) to Sheep and Wool Producers' Co-operative Societies registered with the Corporation.

  •  Distribution of accessory kits including mobile tent, solar torch, rubber pluor mat and rain coat to migrant sheep herders.
  • Five lakh rupees for construction of sheep barn along with accommodation for economically backward sheep farmers. Subsidy will be provided.
  • Five lakh rupees to the shepherds to save the dependent family from financial hardship in case of accidental death of migrant shepherds. Insurance facility will be provided.
  • Grace offering to sheep owners for accidental death of sheep and goats:

    In case of death of sheep and goat above 6 months of age due to accidental or confirmed infectious diseases in cases covered by natural calamity compensation and other than insured cases Rs. 5000/- compensation and Rs.3500/- for sheep/goats of 3-6 months age. Compensation will be given.

Incentives for Milk Producers:

  • To encourage milk production, members supplying milk to the Karnataka Milk Maha Board will receive Rs. 5/- will be given incentive.

  • 5 lakh chicks will be produced and 20 chicks (5 week old chicks) will be distributed to the farmer women.

National Livestock Mission

  • Disaster Management-Livestock Insurance Scheme,
  • Livestock insurance facility is provided under the program. 2%/6% of the market value for a period of one year/three years for eligible dairy cattle/cows/buffaloes above one year old and not exceeding 8 years at the time of insurance at the premium rate of Rs. Providing insurance facility as per below premium subsidy rate up to 70 thousand base price.
